IcyRadio is a small and free online radio player that gives us access to hundreds of radio stations from around the world. It is a portable application with a very simple interface, basic controls, plus some interesting extra features. With IcyRadio we can listen to numerous radio stations, watch some TV channels, and save the streaming media to our disk. It records the streaming audio in MP3 format, allowing us to choose the audio quality of the recording.
It has a favorites/search section organized in tabs where we can perform a series of tasks. In the first tab we are going to find lists of the default radio stations that come with the player catalogued by genre. We can fully customize these lists by adding our favorite stations, and modifying the texts and colors of the titles. There, we can also edit the information about the default stations. On the other tab we can have the program to search for stations on icecast.org or shoutcast.com by genre, where it will show up to 100 results.
On the other hand, we can easily change the program appearance by using the different skins it includes. Other options allow us to resume play on start, or minimize the program to the system tray, where we can access to most of its functions through the context menu.
